Mattress Comparison Worksheet
Compare no more than three mattresses with the same criteria. A structured sheet makes missing information and marketing distractions obvious.
Column headings
Create columns for model, size, firmness, construction, comfort-layer depth, height, support requirement, delivery, trial, return cost, warranty and total price.
Add sleeper-fit rows
Score likely pressure relief, pelvic support, ease of movement, motion isolation, edge use and temperature from one to five. Add a short reason for every score. A number without evidence creates false precision.
Record uncertainty
Use “not disclosed” when the merchant does not provide a detail. Do not assume a missing density, coil specification or fee is favorable. List the question you would ask support.
Use rejection rules
Remove a candidate if it violates a non-negotiable such as room size, frame compatibility or workable returns. Do not let a large discount compensate for a fundamental mismatch.
Make the final note
Write why the chosen mattress won and what risk remains. This gives you a clear reference during the home trial and helps avoid rewriting history after a few difficult nights.
